Roost shooting

I dont think your allowed to shoot them under artificial-light or through NV but your certainly allowed to drop silhouetted roosters through a standard scope.

only had 1 cock bird as yet.....were predominatly oak and as we all know there one of the last to lose its leaves.

Couple more weeks here and I think roosters will be falling in certain woods like leaves themselves

The only birds you are legally allowed to take with a lamp, are feral pigeons.

Silhouette will do just fine,I think there will be a roostin-pheasant thread started once everyone has bare trees in their area,luckily we all have permission

do woodys always roost in the same trees? or do they move to different trees each day? so silhouete shooting you aim for the breast? because i doubt a head shot is possible! when i shoot woodys i aim for their side just below the wing this seems to take them down but then i have only shot two.

Silhouetted head shots on pheasant are easy,dont even contemplate body-shooting a pheasant

whilest walking the dog in local park the other night.spotted about 30 magpies roosting in the trees.took my lads ratcatcher(very handy)fits nicely in my coat

just to say 29 now.very impressed with the ratcatcher espcially when the maggi dropped like a stone,ideal for this kind of work.the thing was none of the other maggis flew off they all stayed on there branches,think i'll be going back soon.horrible little birds.just need to go a bit later when the dog walkers have gone

lads,lads,don't worry about it,quick llyr21 jump on the bandwagon.i've not done anything different to a lot of people on here,anyway went back tonight got another 5,before you all start jumping up and down.i covered my tracks i put little nooses round the 5 maggis necks and hung them in the tree so it looked like a mass suicide.so job covered not one will even know only me and you.so keep it to yopuselfs.what is you really object to it being a public park at night when there is no one a round or would it have been ok if it had been a wood in the middle of nowerea nd i cmae out with a brace of pheasants.or is it perhaps i'm not blessed with permission and transport that i have to take my sport were i can get it or is it a bit of snobbery and that i can't afford to shhot the latest fancy derarest gun so you look down on me.nobody knew i was there.you don't know which park it was.get of your high horses,coz it can be a long fall down.goodnight ya'all...please dont be offfended by words as your words didnt offend me.
