jazz_11 5 Posted November 5, 2008 Report Share Posted November 5, 2008 one of the ferrets i got the other day was a bit of a biter. not to bad.. ebverytime he/she bited give them a tap on the nose with the index finger. i get harder and harder the more they bit but when mine wont stop but then i start smacking her on her back leg like you would do to a dog.. dont no if anyone would agree but its working for me and now she does not bit at all. With a new ferret, i let them come out of the cage to me. A lot of setling a new ferret or dog... in to new surroundings is to do with your voice, verbal encouragement. Small and often interactions. Stick to the same method every time. And as has been said allready, feed first, no one fights on a full tummy.. Quote Link to post

I guess if it kept biting you'd just shoot it. That'd teach the bugger. Nose tapping should have gone out with bread and milk. it's about as medieval..... Quote Link to post
