Guest vim
Hi sox i haven't seen you about since the old Moocher`s site day`s which must be going on 8 years ago.. I use to have the mid fjell boot which is now called the Ranger Mid boot but for the last few years i have worn the Syncro boot. I brought the girlfriend a pair of Ranger Mid a few months back and she couldn't believe how comfortable they were. Hanwag are very good, very comfortable superbly finished off and in my opinion worth every penny you pay for them. But the Orbit boot i had as well as the Forest boot did`nt have the bellows tongue so when you were ankle deep in water you were fecked, lol. Meindl are a decent boot if you know there limitations though prone to cracking on the leather NO matter how much you look after them. I have had a pair of Borneo which i purchased in a closing down sale for the last ten years i payed £60 for them which was half price and they would be in my all time top ten list of best buy`s of my life. Superb soles, excellent workmanship and finished off well with leather lining and a superb summer boot. Never worn Lowa but i can confidently say they wont beat any of the above three in performance, styles or comfort. The worst boot i have ever worn are the Mouflon boot made by le chamuea.. SINDASOX 255
Nice one Vim, good to get feedback on all the boots out there, i've had the Gamekeeper boot from Altberg which i had problems with water penetrating them and stitching undoing, and have now got the Meindl Dovre's, they are a quality boot, but after 1yr i had to send them back to Bramwell International, because of the stitching undoing inside the boot on the lining, and a hole in the tongue of one of the boots, they have now sent me a replacement pair though, interesting to hear your comments on the leather cracking in the Meindls no matter how well you look after them, i looked after mine with the Meindl wax and Kiwi polish on a regular basis but still had cracking in the leather on them, i'm well pleased with them, but if i get problems with them again say after 1 yr, it will make you think twice about paying out top wonga for boots again.
