A few weeks ago a lad in the local overheard me talking about ferreting,he then says he'd like to come & could get some permission,I was sceptical & tried to be non commital.Saw him last night ,he asked when we are going & said could we have more sport & shoot the bolting rabbits,so I tell him I'm not to keen on folks waving a shotgun about when ferreting. He then told me not to worry as it was an air rifle he intended to use ,he must be some kinda hotshot ,I told him its hard enough to hit em with a 12 bore to which the reply was that his air rifle had been tuned by his brother & chrono'd at 38lbs ,I'm not taking up this offer,I don't mind taking folks to spread the joys of our sport but this lad is a clown.LOL :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Now anybody will tell you, that as far as snares concerned im pretty shite. But i was walking dog the other day and a lad pulled up and came over and we had a bit talk. He said he does a bit snaring, so i asked him to show me how he sets them, i handed him one of my peg wires, that i have courtesy of Woodga.

Straight away he told me loop was too big, curious i let him continue, he pulled the snare through the eye of the tealer till the loop was no bigger than a small persons clenched fist.

He wrapped the remaining wire around the tealer so the 'snare' was held in place, he then pushed it right into the ground so it was up about two inch off the ground......

this man was unreal apparently he had shot 650 rabbits on the land in the past week and a half, i know some lads go an shoot 100 a night, but you couldnt on this land, any sign of a lamp and there off, and i aint seen 600 rabbits in that area, never mind on just that farm.... some people are un-real.

some people dont even realise that their talking sh*t, but unfortunly we do get them. A guy from LLantrisant ounce told me that rspca caught urban foxex from bristol and released them in the country side near him. He said he used to shoot at least 30 bristol foxes a night. When i asked how he could tell they were from bristol he told me they had a confused look in their eye.

I havent got any time for the lad, he's a mate pf my uncles, and we went out one night, lamping from the back of the van (before the hunting ***) for hare's. ANd he was sitting out the window, chatting away to my uncle, f*****g about at gate's, and wearing tracksuit pants and a white tracksuit jacket!

But im willing to give someone a second chance, and thats when i was on my ground which i know very well, the best way to get to the rabbits etc.. and he was telling me how to walk it, tosser! then he came out with the running after deer shite. I was tempted to just get back in the van and f**k off n leave him.

Also, He's one of these tossers that nail the badgers and "the more marks the dogs come back with, the better he loves it"
