stealthy1 3,964
I had a HW97K and I liked it, I've still got a HW77, which is the first one. I only got rid of the HW97 because I had to trade it in to get the money agianst a HW100T, so I would go for the 97, no air to worry about, and whacks bunnies easily! Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
wouldnt buy another theoben, the triggers are pants and they shouldnt be on a gun costed £410 plus Quote Link to post
Bush Rummager 4,668
Thanks, Bush Rummager! I'm checking out all three this weekend..... the Theoben is beginning to seem more attractive. I'll see how they all feel. Thanks. Just to add, whilst you're at the shop, ask if you can run a pellet or two through each gun? even if its only into a backstop, will give you more of idea to compare triggers, recoil, noise and even the cocking of each gun. My Evo is 177 cal, gun only £370 new. Take your time and get the gun that YOUR happy with. Quote Link to post
severnsider 0
Ive had an HW97k, AA TX200 HC, and most recently a Theoben Evoulution Carbine. Id have to say that all three guns are excellent but I preffered the Theoben. I found it shot more smoothly and I could shoot out a bit further with it. It was a lot lighter than the other two as well. The reason I recently got rid was that I got sick of the gas ram leaking air. Ihad it back for repair three times !!. The best trigger has to be the Weirach though. cant fault them ! The weirach may not look the most modern but its old predecessor the 77 has been around for years and is still going strong so that says enough for the quality of such guns. One things for sure though, you wont go far wrong with any of them !! Again, thanks to all of you for your helpful replies! Hopefully I'll be sorted in a week or so. Cheers. Quote Link to post

j.stuart 0
i think you should take a look at the bsa lightning tactical and when the spring wears in a year or 2 get it gas rammed. id go for a gas rammed theoben or bsa lightning tbh. just my opinion and ive used all rifles mentioned. Paul W 0
I've got a .22 HW97k and it gets more trips into the woods than my Daystate harrier. I've got absolutely no complaints with it, its no louder than the aweful hammer DOINK! on the Daystate and it comes up to the shoulder better. Lots of power, V accurate and a satisfying, well machined hiss when its cocked. Regards, Paul. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
You are talking different things and the answer will be different for each individual...the Weirauch is almost certainly the best built...typical overengineered/over weight german technology...probably last forever! Theoben (the company) has undergone a number of changes over the last few years, not all for the better, product wise! AA has also been bought by NSP Engineering (few years back now) but MY choice would be AA...but NOT 200, the 410!!! Each to their own!!! What is the best...define BEST Quote Link to post
Sexy_Shot 5
cannot beat the weirauch hw90 mate Quote Link to post
