Sterry 0
Just wondering how you would get the smoke down the hole, is it just a section on hose pipe?? i've tried smoke pellets but bit toxic for my liking, the chainsaw would be damn easier nd bit more pleasant...for me mind ...not the rats Quote Link to post
just jack 998
did you put the pipe down all of the holes,,,,,,,,did smoke come out of any of the other holes,,,,it may look like they are connected but not always,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,rats at times would rather stay put when they know dogs are about Quote Link to post

Guest night time my time
can help to keep your dogs back off the holes, give the ratsa chance to bolt, Quote Link to post
huntwithhounds 3
i never run my mixture to rich as to much smoke will kill the rats underground by affixiation. Quote Link to post
baldockbanks courser 598
if you use petrol they will bolt. just put it in a squezzie drink bottle put it in all the holes and wait. most rats will bolt. if they dont throw a match down one of the holes and pop! the air will link all the holes and they explode! rats will come out singed but still put up a good fight. my old bitch had singed wiskers at the end but she was still game at the end of the day. Big bald beautiful 1,231
if its soil just let the dogs mark and then dig them out, seen some real arsehole using a smoker in soil.they kill more rats underground then bolt. im not a fan of smokers, ok for concrete floors or somewere the dogs cant dig or a ferret cant be used. just jack 998
yeh good point, but seen plenty bolt from soil, but i cant see the point in digging it all up so the rat runs to the end so to speak, but in all fairness, we always end up digging the feckers, as the dogs somehow know there still there, then they pop out, good coment, Quote Link to post
JDFrain 1
Not to sure why but noticed this year the rats seem to be staying down longer than, when using the smoker. i have found that i am having to wait a lot longer and use a lot more smoke than normal even using my standard mix of petrol and two stroke. my old uncle he keeps saying to me they wont be long now he can here them coughing hahaahaah... john Quote Link to post
