uru 341 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Share Posted November 3, 2008 Chb Lad, WE have never done that cross,but many years ago,my father owned some fox terriers that were full of grit,and aside from the color,and those skinny heads,you would have thought that "they" were patterdales .But my reason for saying that,is based upon "those" Fox terriers,I think if they are a representative of the breed as a whole,it could make a fair cross.Do you have any pictures?I'd love to see them.I haven't seen a Fox terrier in yrs craig Quote Link to post
fox hunter 53 Posted November 8, 2008 Report Share Posted November 8, 2008 hi chb lad this is fox hunter i have tried this breed and it worked very well they were a hard dog but i lost both underground the dog first and 3weeks after i lost the bitch i wouldnt use this breed again as they are too hard Quote Link to post
dev 227 Posted November 8, 2008 Report Share Posted November 8, 2008 why would you put fox terrier into your patterdales? fox terriers are no longer a working breed!!!what can they bring to the mix?? IMO if you are after proper workers then you are just about to waste the next 2 years rearing these pups. stick to workers from working stock in working breeds.its still hard to get them right but if you start adding non working blood then your just asking for trouble.
