Whats your point Tonto?

my point is "dogs" that go to ground Voon, usally show tell tail signs Kemosabe, Hi-yo silver :nono:

Graham,

In fairness to Keeps, i think that she stated that her dogs were young and untried so their is no ambiguity at all in her post.

I thought that you were an advocate of the plummer terrier?

I have seen numerous pictures of working terriers on this forum. Why should the plummer terrier be any different?

I have only one adult that readily goes to ground, she is Wyremead Suzi. The others are useful above ground, one in particular but she is too big for earthwork.

The grandmother of the bitch who you say is too big for earthwork was much much bigger went to ground time and time again , perhaps you only have small quarry where you are hence small holes , lets say bunnies and rats then :D

Or prehaps glen w breeds a better working line than you tim? (suzi does go to ground, seems yours don't so keeps uses the one's with earth work potential,if you get what i mean Keeps without being rude about your other dogs :icon_redface: ) as i'm sure if it were your bred dogs tim that were going to ground you would be telling us all it was you that bred them. ;) .

There arent many fox earths where she can fit to ground on the land that we have 10/22 which are the largest type of quarry she can be worked on - being such a "law abiding" person  you will realise that. I know that her grandmother was worked to ground very hard, and she, I am sure would do the job if she would fit into the earths we have access to - she does try, but she is at least 16" tall and she's not at all spanable. I wouldn't have said her grandmother was much bigger than her at all to be quite honest, having seen her I'd have said she was about the same size. Pre-ban she killed fox she had bushed with ease on her own above ground, and before anyone starts I know that this isn't considered the same as working below ground.

Some of the places we have been trying are tight even for a very much smaller dog. You see the picture below of Ellie and Petal - well Petal (Suzi's daughter) is around 14" still biggish for a terrier- but she is much smaller proportioned all round than Ellie.

Still she is a useful dog as I have said before, even if she was sold to me as a "within standard" dog :clapper:
