Guest jbswildlife
all dogs wether there lamping dogs or not, need the fist 12wks being family trained followed by 16weeks of obediance training. training for their trade takes as long as it takes. but I would say a year old to 16mths is a good time to start, this will make sure no bad habits ocour. wild rover 548
Just a quick one to find out what age you start them off, Thanks depends on the cross, large or small, physical and mental maturity, only you will know, small crosses may be ready at 9 months, larger may need longer. undisputed 1,664
If you mean start hunting then there's no harm in taking the pup out ferreting and having the occasional run on the lamp etc. But the dog should be trained first and formost before you start on anything 10mnts is about ok but nothing to hard.
