kvnmcwebn 0
Right my son has accidentally snapped 4 inches off the tip of a fly rod that i have in my possesion. I could put another eye on top of the break but its a short rod to begin with. This is a very expensive rod. What are my options? Quote Link to post

martin 332
Could you put up a picture of the break showing as much detail as possible mate, and,I will try to tell you how best to mend it................Martin. Quote Link to post

I snapped my carp rod whilst fishing off the rocks for bass several years ago (doh!) My local tackle dealer put a blank in it and tidyed it up for a tenner. Cheers, D. Quote Link to post

As you see its very light action. Its beauty though, has a lovely balanced feel when you hold it. It broke just under an eyelet, the rod is only 2 or 3 mill at the break and is hollow. Cheers, D. thats reassuring, hopefully i will find a similar solution. regarding the bass breaking the rod, I was fishing for pollack when something nailed a small pollack i had hooked and didnt know about. My rod(not this one) bent in half and nearly snapped. Whatever it was let go after i started dragging it in, the pollack was a mess though-it was definately in someones mouth and whatever it was didnt have big teeth, my buddy reckons it was a bass that hit it. Guest WILF
The only thing that bothers me about getting a rod repaired is that it can sometimes leave a flat spot in the action.........if it was an expensive bit of kit, then I would contact the manufacturers and see is they will replace.........I know that Grays give a lifetime warranty so you never know. Barbus 0
Yep Grays have replaced top sections for me in the past as long as you saw up the broken section into 2 inch sections and send it to them for proof of broken section Quote Link to post
