On the fly for the thrill, it's the uncertainty of whether you will get it into the net.

 

Cleek (scottish gaff) is used to provide one for the pot. Cocks only OK.

 

Myself I prefer to eat a Sea Trout if they are being cooked in the kettle (didn't want to say poached). Smoked, bit brown bread and some lemon segments to squeeze over it got to be a big fish.

What did that stretch the scales to AS?

15.5lbs biggest for the year had 19 10 sambos all between 10lb to 15.5 also 9 grilse the majority of them were clean mabe about 13 of them no a bad year all on the fly also 1 seatroot about 5lb in october clean as a whistle on a sze 2 fly in a biggish water

this was the same fish gave to the owner of the beat to smoke :victory:wasnt expecting a fresh one as had a dirty one 5 mins before 11.5 but just gose to show they were still coming in fresh till the end of season ;)
