jazz_11 5
well i am a member of Nobs-National organisation of beaters and picers up. (just explain to your mum what it is before you go typing it into google just incase they have any ideas. ) and today i went on my first beat, not only was it my first but my dogs first, and it was a great day i have done very little training with the dog, i wasnt even sure if he was gun shy or not. it turned out he wasnt gun shy which was a big relief to me. well we did 5 or 6 drives in total i cant remember but i loved it and so did the dog. he worked his socks off as soon as he sawy the otehr dogs working and his commands were spot on.. i really loved it and am now going to go to the same beat every time tehre is a shoot on. sorry no pics but was so happy i though i may aswell share it with someone else lol. cheers jazz Quote Link to post

jazz_11 5
its great fun mate, my dog didnt pick up any, because he was flushing them out but im sure his time will come when he does pick them up. he does retrieve birds i throw for him in the back garden which i have shot with the air rifle or people have shot and given them to me. so hopefully he will be ok with the pheasants was a good day and me and the dog loved it. Little Butch 16
Nice one mate, I've been beating for 5 years now and love It. We started off yesterday. One of the ol' boys had a cracking shot, 2 Hen birds flew over side by side and he dropped them both, one with each Barrel Butch Quote Link to post

Glad you had a good day though and im sure there will be many more to come. Quote Link to post

Ask for some wings off the birds that are shot and rubber band them to a dummy and get your dog to fetch it Quote Link to post
