Grim Reaper 1
I had the opportunity to recently attempt my first ever sale on the interweb (that of my Richter 6-25x50 A/O I/O riflescope) - this was something that, to me, was a bit of an 'unknown' to me as i have not done this before now. Cometa300s (Liam) was the guy who wanted to buy it from me, and this was sucessfully arranged between the two of us, with each of us shooting PM's to each other, and in 'phone talks also. My main fear about trying this selling lark was to assure Liam that I am not one of these 'take the money and run' type of people, but one of the old fashioned type - you can read all sorts of horror tales about selling/buying on the internet these days (especially 'here,' for instance). Liam had said that he trusted me not to do a 'cut and run' on him, and so that was that point settled with. The sale proceeded well, and as I promised, I kept him informed at each stage of it. Nothing is worse in my mind than when you say you want to buy off someone, they take the money, and you never hear from them again, is there? Anyway, the sale has now come to full circle; Liam now has his new scope, and I got what was asked for it - nothing could be fairer than that, really. I have had nothing but a very good experience with Liam, and like me, he kept his word all along - I received nothing less than what I expected, and I hope I gave nothing less than he expected back as well. It has been a pleasure to do business with Liam - I would have no hesitation in doing so again at any time in the future, nor would I hesitate to recommend this young man , if asked for an opinion on him in the future. Liam: A good deal, done with a good mate, in a good manner - Top Man bud! My best regards, Grim. Edited November 1, 2008 by Grim Reaper Quote Link to post
johnbaz 363
. it's smashing when a deal goes well, when things start to go wrong it can be a nightmare though some git over on pigeonwatch used a pic of one of my rifles to scam a good guy in holland out of £170+ postage costs i hope the tawt gets drunk with the money and chokes on vomet in his sleep the low-life well done to the pair of you john Quote Link to post

Grim Reaper 1
dont tar everyone with the same brush. ive had over 20 good dealings "over there" Lewismac1, I am not tarring anyone with any brush at all - I was merely pointing out one place where I KNOW that there HAVE been instances of cut and runs - it is (unfortunately) a fact, it happens, all over the place (not just there), to anyone, and could happen at any time. I am just glad (for both Liam and myself) to say that it didn't happen in this transaction. Although This was the first time I have sold an item on line, I have witnessed many of these unfortunate happenings 'over there' - after all is said and done, i have been a member there for many years and have witnessed it happen time and time again - i just don't choose to go there anymore. From a personal point of view, if everyone doing the selling that has been involved in that type of thing, would have kept in contact with those doing the buying, then this sort of thing just wouldn't have happened at all, would it!? If they also thought more about their own reputation, instead of how much they can fit in their wallets, then again, things would have been fine. I think you have mis-read, or mistaken my post's context in that particular remark, mate. Try re-reading it, and you'll see what i meant, I'm sure. Regards, Grim. johnbaz 363
reaper i think lewis was getting at me. i didn't intentionally try to make it seem like they're a bad bunch on pigeonwatch forum, in fact far from it, i've had a couple of fantastic deals on pigeonwatch. the git that scammed using my pic had only joined to con someone, he had about six or seven posts only straight away he advertised my rifle for sale and had a response from this chap in holland then never logged in again once he got paid, i don't know whether the chap got his money back as he never got in touch with me again... i would have probably missed the ad as was a bit of a lurker at the time and didn't look in very often but the buyer emailed me wanting info on a hw80 that used to belong to me- unfortunately it still did belong to me and was in our spare room with about twenty other rifles that i own....i felt sick having to tell him that he was the victim of a scam artist.... so, sorry if i offended anyone on pigeonwatch- it wasn't my intention as i love looking in there on a regular basis now john Quote Link to post

Timelord 0
This thread is a great reference for everyone to know that Liam and Grim are good guys to trade with. I did a bit of business with a member AKA Ricky-N.p.p, for a CO2 RWS C225 .177 plinking pistol the transaction went very smooth also. It's sad when you get the odd person to rip someone off it's always the minority that can spoil it for the majority Quote Link to post

gazguildford 0
its great when things go swimmingly but things can also go wrong "sell and buy at your own risk" maybe sites like this should have feed back sheets on your user profile just like ebay it would help? but its excellent when u see comments like that!
