Lennard 10
Dear all, Does anyone use "liquid plaster" on dogs toes/nail rims and such after damage or for protection? stuff like this: http://www.3mselect.co.uk/p-610-nexcare-pr...y-dressing.aspx YIS, Lennard Quote Link to post
trader 0
cant see any reason for the stuff. clean the foot, cut nail back to the break, clean again, keep dry and clean until it grows back job done Quote Link to post
Lennard 10
Yeah ok in case of a real damaged nail I don't see a use either. But for preventing dirt getting under or in the nail rim or treating minor tarmac burns so you can use the dog the next day? L Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
I use a fast setting epoxy glue mate Cutting the nail back is sometimes necessary but puts the dog out of action for a while. Edited November 1, 2008 by joe ox Quote Link to post
swamper 11
used it on the dogs skin once after she cut her self......howled like f**k.....so tried it on myself after i got cut....howled like f**k.... Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
Lennard are you talking about a cracked /damaged nail or skin/tissue damage around the nails? Quote Link to post
Lennard 10
I'm talking about skin/tissue damage around the nails...maybe the stuff can be used for preventing sandfoot/nailbed infection as it makes a polymer layer. I bought some this afternoon and tried it around my nails and it does make a shiny film on my nail rims but not very thick...multiple applications with a small paintbrush might do it...? Lennard 10
I used it on the dogs nailrims and it makes a film...dog does not like spraying the stuff, cold and nasty, so I dabbed it on. On my own nails it is not very persistent, the thin film kind of scales off... L Quote Link to post

Same here. When the stuff 1st came out I used it on a friction burn I got acting like a young-un on a kids free fall slide. Put the stuff on and it burn like hell. Right at the bottom of the slide at the bit were you hold your elbows and shout obscenities was a sign about wearing long sleeves. And they say hunting is cruel! Eamonn Quote Link to post
