Had a few similar over the years(coincidently in Yorks) and put it down to does cleaning them as kits they re never weepy or pussy as though they re a fresh wound and very even

Being a full time Rabbit Trapper for many years l have had quite a few of them over the years, usualy in my rabbit traps (Drop Boxes) What seems to happen is when there are a few in one box there seems to be a dominant Buck rabbit that for some reason starts to pick on the odd one or 2 and as a result chews the ears off them! This is sometimes also acompanied by a lot of scratching and biting around the hind quarters?

I used to breed meat rabbits, and every now and then the does would do this while cleaning the kits, and I've even seen them chew the legs off too.

ah ha, thats it! i never thought but now youve mentioned it i would say you are right!

when im lambing some ewes do it to their lambs ears and tails when their cleaning them after birth, over eager mothers.

i had one like that last night! thought my bull terrier had done it before i could get to it, but there are also people who ferret the ground with shot guns!!

Iv seen quite a thew rabbits like this sumtimes the moms chew them off when theyre kitts in the nest its usaually young mothers that do it though,or it cud be down 2 inbreeding GOD DAM RED NECK RABBITS!!!
