comanche 3,060
All those "Death in the Long grass ,Man Eater's of Tsavo", type books had me gripped when I was young. Tales of a Rat-hunting man by Plummer is good even if Phil Drabble wrote most of it for him ten or twelve years before What I'm saying is that if you read "Rat-hunting Man" it is only fair to read Drabble's more gentlemanly "Of Pedigree Unknown" as well and remember he was there first.(get the revised edition if you can)

minion 29
I really enjoy reading anything on running dogs. Thought Merle was a fantastic read and liked rouges and running dogs. The newer stuff by J Darcy is also fantasic. Love both the lurcher books. Love or hate Plummer, he certianly knew how to keep you reading from cover to cover.

mackem 27,315
Harold Wymans poaching book is goodJ darcys books A poaching book cant remember whats its called. Its by N.Bird i remember reading it at work and having a massive smile on my face when he talks about the blokes who nailed 250 pheasants in a night and still hadnt finished shame they got caught leaving a wood with hessian sacks full of pheasants in a wheel barrow. I dont know why but that made me laugh, i had to go and tell someone. The thing was the only person at work is a vegan, he didnt share my enthusiasm. I told you we needed a wheel-barrow
OldTrapCollector 377
I have quite a few field sports titles on my bookshelves but personal favourites include ~ Pool of the Black Witch and Brendon Chase by BB Of Pedigree Unknown by Phil Drabble Rural Reflections by Stuart Haddon Riddoch (the trap collectors bible ~ for now at least ) Rats and How to Destroy Them by Mark Hovell Merle was about the best of DBP's books I suppose, but Darcy's Running Dog Addiction and Lloyd's Moucher's Tale beat them all for lurcher work tomes OTC
