digdigger 1
I Have a 3yr old jack x parsons russel i work him at take him showing in the summer but i love racing him, showing is ok but racing is fast and fun i no it comes across as a bit gimmicky but at the end of the day my dog is for my fun!!! i probably wouldnt like it so much either if he was slow!!! Just wondered if anyone else had a fast dog, so far only other russels, russels crosses or bedlingtons have beaten "Sage" maybe i just have come up against a good enough pat, lakey or border but so far from all the dogs i've seen i would say on the whole russels are the fastest!!! OldNog 432
i treid terrier racing once but my bitch was more intrested in trying to fight every other dog that was ragging the drag Recipe for disaster at the hunt shows with working terriers going after the same thing!! COMPO 54
i love terrier racing it is hilarious, and yes they do tend to scrap and fight a bit but that makes it funnier in my opinion, my teckel x border once won the racing at the Thame country show, the only other entrants were JRT's and she beat them all!! its a good display, its good PR, its funny and better than standing in a ring to decide who has the prettiest dog! i remember living up north and the local lurcher club ran a "race" Night, no shows just race after race after race, terriers, lurchers etc.....a great laugh and a good night! claybusers al 9
got to agree out all the terriers i have raced my russels where the best had to stop a few years back when the pat i had at the time came out the trap and nailed the yorkie next to it the lady who owned it didnt understand working terriers fight especialy pat dogs so that was the end i dont think i would of been welcome any way after the vet bill because she tried to pull them apart after he locked on
