This morning i was going to set some snares and bodygrips along a railway line in leicestershire, however when i arrived at the site there were tractors and trailers all over the place,so i had a word with the boss ,and said i would come back next week then i could have the place to my self.I then drove a couple of miles up the road to where iam going ferretting on friday, just for look ,and to pick afew bluelegs, while iwas there i thought i would set a few snares on a rough bank that ran the lenth of a huge field of wheat that was about 2 inch high, the bank was covered in runs but it was hard to see which were being used as the whole place was soaking and all the beats were full of leaves, iwas wondering ,should i bother or not, when i spotted it,every fourth or fifth run had slug pellets on,bright blue little markers that had been carried of the field on the rabbits feet,i set 24 snares all on the headland at 6 1\2 inch ,see what turns up tomorrow.

any luck?

I had two in the snares ,when i arrived in the morning it was white all over and there was a brisk north wind hitting the bank ,we tried our luck the other side of the bank with the ferrets ,we had a steady morning ,with only three digs ,and ended up in my lads pub were we swopped 34 rabbitsfor two pints of ruddles bitter, he cooks them up,and flogs them for 9 1/2 quid a portion [1rabbit=2 portions ]so ithink we got a good deal :(
