Bitch in season

Recommended Posts

Had a dig this morning with my 2 yr old bitch who is about to come into season she took a bit of stick to her snout and left eye which are a bit swollen so im goin to give her a some penicillin to fight the infection, ive done this before and it done the trick but i need some advice as i was goin to worm her before she gets lined by the stud dog, should i wait until ive finished giving her antibiotics?

thanks for any advice ..Jigger

You should wait until she proves herself before you start taking pups off her!

so if she was lying dead in an earth would that be good enough ?

no, but she is only two ! each to there own i suppose.

2years 5months to be exact but my point is shes been written off by someone who knows nothin about her or how shes worked, example bolted 1st fox at 11 months a few weeks later {when i was just out for a walk} went to ground and stayed until i went home for a spade to dig to her but shes being rubbished on

here by one of our own, as if theres not enough trouble with the antis.....i suppose some people just feel superior?

Guest It's Me!

I use a spot on from Stronghold against worms, mite etc. It's safe for the bitch even when she is pregnant.

2 years and 5 months is a nice age for a first litter.

the best litters av seen are from veteran dogs! between 4 and 8 are good ages from what ive been taught :haha:

surely its in their jeans is it,i know people want stock from proven sire and dam but its got to be in their blood,my [bANNED TEXT]'s 10 month old saluki dog caught his old coursing bitch in season a few years back now and he was going to get shot of the litter when they where born just keeping a couple on to take the milk off the bitch, but anyway i persuaded him to keep the full litter and the ones that he traced a couple of years later turned out to be doing the job up and down the country, they were off good coursing blood lines,my point being does it make a difference on age and proveability as long as the blood lines there?

[jigger, the bitch sounds fine and at a good age to breed, I have a friend who is a very well known breeder & worker of patterdales in Cheshire and I have known him t breed at an earlier age than 2yrs 5 mths.]
