Tuzo 251
got a couple of pullets 22 weeks no eggs anyone no when theyll start? Any time now, probably taking a little longer to come on due to the weather and shorter days.
Guest MIST NET
Give em extra light and good snap that should do the trick .
Groat 2
As Mist net says "give them some extra light" If you rig a light to one of them plug-in timer switches you can have the light coming on early in the morning, its better at that end of the day rather than the evening as they may not be up to roost when the light goes out if its set for the evening! I LET THEM OUT AT HALF 6 EVERY MORNING THERE IN THE GARDEN ALL DAY AN THEY TAKE THERE SELVES IN ABOUT 5 SO COULDNT I LEAVE THE BULB ON THROUGH THE NIGHT ?
Groat 2
You can do what you want! But because of the reasons mentioned above its better to give light in the mornings rather than plunge them into total darknes in the evenings when they perhaps havn't gone to roost. Also bear in mind with British winter time it won't be long before we are still in darkness possibly right up to 8am
Tis TM 8
Some great advice there - all my hens have stopped laying! Bitter pill to swallow when they are still shovelling corn and pellets in them like no tomorrow!!
