dogger 100
nice night for it so i went out with the pup and its mum the whippet ,the pup has just turned a year and i thought lets try her on the lamp after seeing a few rabbits during the day but never quite managing to catch one as they are always to close to the fences, all went well with a good few runs following mums lead but the field i was in is quite bumpy and i kept loosing the rabbits on the beam, quite pleased with her for her 1st time plenty more nights better luck next time lol Quote Link to post

We took her brother out for the first time last week, he only got a couple of runs as wasnt a lot about but he did really well. He missed the last one by inches - slipped on leaves just as he went for the strike We were very pleased though overall. He has had a couple in the day working in tandem with Tyla too and a couple of pheasants Any idea how the others are coming on? Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
Would be well worth keeping an eye on how they all turn out and maybe repeating the breeding? There has been a lot of interest in Parker down this way, its a shame its so far otherwise i reckon you would be getting some requests Quote Link to post
pointer28 1
Hi Dogger, Sound like a great little pup, but maybe it would be better if you didn't let her chase the ones that are too close to the ditch and that she is unlikely to catch. What a pup needs at that age is simple squatters or one in the middle of a field that she has a better chance of catching. The absolute best thing that you can ever give a young dog is confidence. If they have too many unsuccessful runs, they will lose their drive and maybe even start opening up. This isn't a criticism, and you probably already know all this, but I thought I'd make this point just in case you didn't. Quote Link to post
