jasper65 6
I wasn't going to bother today but I took a look at her and she was keen so I though f**k it and had a quick walk with her over the edge of the landfill. I couldn't beleive it Rabbits was everywhere but all a bit close to cover for a decent slip. I finally got a decent bit of sparce cover in a clearing and one pushed out on its bike at the far end. all in all she did well for a unfit Hawk but she was a good girl without setting her wings once and stayed on it pumping until she overhalled it a fair way away, she worked f*****g hard to catch it so for me that was enough!! she was Knackered and I was puffing like a good one walking the 100 odd so yds to retreive her .... I had the kids £40 profesional camera with me today so I managed to get some high quality snaps when I arrived at the scene , and one with her enjoying a bit of her meal Jasper Quote Link to post

gsi2000stokie 5
nice one jasp. be careful if theyre drilling on them land fills though. a mate of mine does the drilling and once theyve found the gas they use a machine to burn off the excess gases (LIKE OIL RIGS) but ye cant see a flame and hes seen a few birds fly over the flame and drop dead instantly in a puff of smoke on the ones hes at. he only told me cos he saw lads who flew a hawk after gulls and it flew straight through the flame after one and they were warned what might happen but they still kicked off when the poor bugger copped it. ONLY WHEN THEY FOUND THE GAS THOUGH MIND!! just though ad let ye all know cos a lot of people wont know Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
well done mate, i'll bell u soon mate, moved house loads going on Yep nice one mate . she is on Antibiotics at the moment due to a Bacterial infection but she will be ok when she finishes the course on sunday.... I rang up Bob Haddon tonight who told me he had some simular problems with Goshawks in the past he has flown with Gut Bacteria Imbalance but soon came round after some Antibiotics. This was the guy who sorted me with my first Goshawk who I certainly got some tips from and built on a good few years back. I had to learn from someone on shortwings with a few tricks of the trade and this guy is one I still share questions with, when I read posts by people new to the game pretending they did it all themselves like some sort of miracle it kills me . I'll be the first everytime to give respect when its deserved , I'm afraid there's not much respect about like this these days mate and far too much biggin themselves up .... speak soon Jasper Quote Link to post
