pellet test

Recommended Posts

Well up ealry this morning my father went to work on his motorbike and woke me up and couldnt go back to sleep so i thought i would have fun eith the gun.

so i tryed a penatraction test with a argos calologue from 24 inches i thought it was a reasonable distance to try.

i been comparing these pellets over the past 2 days.

Well yester day i had a grouping test from 3 yards put 5 pellets all touchin each other within a 5p piece with the fields and then i tried the with the hunter same place everything but the grouping was more in a 50p piece sized groupinh with 2 not touching yet again still 5 pellets.

So the accuracy on these field are amazing.

But today done a penatration test with a ago catologue i will kind of set a table out showing you the results now sorry for no pictures digi cam is down.

Pellet Distance Target Muzzle energy Number of pages pellet was found Number of pages pellet caused Damage Damage to pellet

Field .22 catologue was very distorted

Hunter Catalogue

Predictable results with pellets of the same weight.

Pointy one's penetrate more & deform less & are a tad less accurate.

But then, I think we all knew that.

Always fun to try with these things but I have to agree with the above.

I've also tried a few tests into phone books and it is very difficult to do it scientifically as a spine one side and open the other, also every shot opens the pages a bit, anyway......!!
