Guest hpool_hunter
well we all know the saluki's are probs the * kiddies* on the long ears - my question is what other breeds fair up to been and can go the way with them , i,e i think deerhounds can also stay , stong , big , good strides , determined . whats others opinions , no matter what they are , list them , no matter what breed , someone once even said a coursing whippet to me lol . forest of dean redneck 11,563
are you on about coursing giving the hare yds headstart,or mooching.as large whippets or whippet with touch of greyhound will take hares down if given plenty of exercise. Quote Link to post

bowers1986 3
Used to knock around with a few lads what ran well bred deer hound greyhounds, great hare dogs although completely different running style to the saluki crosses. They seemed alot faster than my dogs at the time but when running a hare the deer hound crosses would lose alot of ground on twists and turns whereas my saluki greyhounds never really had this problem as they were running at a much slower pace and boxing the hare in until it was time to strike. Both great crosses in there own right Quote Link to post
