well we all know the saluki's are probs the * kiddies* on the long ears - my question is what other breeds fair up to been and can go the way with them ,

i,e i think deerhounds can also stay , stong , big , good strides , determined .

whats others opinions , no matter what they are , list them :D , no matter what breed , someone once even said a coursing whippet to me lol .

have to agree with hpool.deerhounds are good crossed to a greyhound.best coursing dog i evere see was deerhoundx.but i suppose a full proper coursing bred greyhound will stop them aswel.look of the draw i suppose.

Mark bricks collie crosses done alright by all accounts, day and night!

Used to knock around with a few lads what ran well bred deer hound greyhounds, great hare dogs although completely different running style to the saluki crosses. They seemed alot faster than my dogs at the time but when running a hare the deer hound crosses would lose alot of ground on twists and turns whereas my saluki greyhounds never really had this problem as they were running at a much slower pace and boxing the hare in until it was time to strike. Both great crosses in there own right

i course hare wit deer/grey great vision and brains no problem doing 2 minutes r so on the back of a hare not the best striker has missed a good few hares by diving at her hare but has always held her own wit various other crosses i also course pure deerhounds whom xcel on long courses over rough open ground rock heather and bog i have a bitch whose grand sire is coronach pennys chieftain and has taken good few hare and odd fox on such ground single handed
