will.f11 24
cut some hazel mate, otherwise it may be worth going on thenetloft.net or somewhere and buy fibreglass ones. You wont need that many as I only have 7 poles on my 35 yarder Quote Link to post
thehunter69 1
after my net has the bagging it about 27 yrds lond so it must be atleast 45/50 long Quote Link to post
whippeter69 88
This is what i did Go out and cut some nice long straight hazel branches, Put them in the loft/on the radiator and leave them for 3 weeks. Then cut them into 3Ft lengths and then put a point on one end and trim the bark off of the other and then have a go at straightening any small bends in them,i use a electric hob and this works great for me, but some people wrap the bends in a small cloth and put hot water over it, iv not tried this but im sure it will work, Heres a few pics for you mate The tops And the bottoms Quote Link to post
stubby 175
you'll only need 6 poles, do a e bay search, or any farm equipment stockists near you, and get some electric fence poles, they are 21" long with a 6" steel spike on the bottom, worked well for me when I started, I then bought proper ones from MAGNUMS click the link on longnet start up page, they only cost around £3.50 each Quote Link to post

thehunter69 1
I went to B&Q yesterday and bought some 17mm dowel 8 ft long ( gutted when i went to the till ) i hate buying thing , i will be cutting them up to around about 800mm long and putting a slight point on one end, the top i was going to come down 70mm and drill a 6mm hole through it and i was going put some wire through and tie it top a rubber band ( from a camping shop that you use with the peg and a tent ) the pass it through the net and hook it over the end of the pole and slide it down to the wire to stop the net falling off i will post a photo soon so you no what i mean, sounds hard but will be easy and cheap..... let me no what yous think folks, paul..
