lurcherlass 5
Lisa from Greyhound Gap has asked me to make a plea fro help to anyone who may be in the Ashurst area of the New Forest , to try and find their missing Greyhound bitch "Meg". - this is the info: Meg is missing she is microchipped to Greyhound Gap and the name on her chip details is MAGIC. She is a 4 year old black and white greyhound girl and is spayed. She went missing around 5pm on Friday 24th October in the Ashurst area of the New Forest on a walk. Meg is wearing a collar pink material martingale, red muzzle and is tagged. Please contact Lisa at Greyhound Gap on 07917422489. This is Meg: Lisa has asked if anyone is out in the area for whatever reasons, and they can help search or see Meg, they contact her on her mobile. Meg vanished from "Deer Leap Enclosure" if that means anything to the locals. Edited October 30, 2008 by lurcherlass Quote Link to post

Scallywag 78
There's a request out for help this weekend .............. Right we can only hope and continue praying that this girl is home by then BUT we need to start making some plans for the weekend if she isnt. The weekends being the time that most people obviously are off work and can get to a further area to help us out. We are urging as many people as humanly possible to join us Saturday and Sunday to literally do a finger tip search of the area. The more people we have out on the ground the more we can concentrate our efforts on the dense areas. We need BIG POWERFUL flash torches as their are areas that its just to deep to wade into and need to be able to get lighting in under the thicket and bramble. Dog wise we are asking preferably that dogs that can be trusted not to bark/lunge/or kick off at other dogs as if this happens there is going to be a hell of alot of frightening noise and dogs on leash. This really isnt an area unless you had a well run working down, stock broken and 100 per cent recall anyone would be letting them off. I wasnt even happy to allow Tzar off the lead in there and he has spent the whole of his life never letting me down and is use to running out after missing dogs. ALSO if anyone can post on the working forums, any working owners in this area with well run dogs use to behaving in this sort of environment who are perhaps a little safer and more under control off lead in this environment we would be greatful if someone could ask them to join us. Nobody can relax at the moment. Alive hopefully but god forbid dead we need to know where this girl is and that she is not injured or suffering in pain. This is the pub with the car park with the postcode of where we will meet both days. We hope to have someone at the carpark at ALL times handing out maps and a place to meet to co ordinate our next move. We are hoping to get the bloodhounds back out, animal communicators, dowsers and at this rate the fortune teller from Blackpool Pier if she could help we would welcome her along Meet at : The Happy Cheese 198 Lyndhurst Road Ashurst Southampton SO40 7AR _________________ Quote Link to post

I guess if you can't guarantee your dog will be OK with deer, either don't bring it or keep it on the lead. Lisa, who is really ill atm, is traveling down from Stoke to the New Forest this weekend to try and find this poor dog, so if there's anyone who's closer and can spare a couple of hours, it'd be MUCH appreciated Quote Link to post
lurcherlass 5
I'm sorry to say that Meg's body has been recovered from the woods - it would seem she'd broken her neck possibly whilst chasing deer Quote Link to post

lurcherlass 5
Yep, at least it was quick and she didn't suffer - we've all been having nightmares thinking about her slowly starving to death with that muzzle on, so at least this was a better way to go Thank you to anyone who's been helping to search and please pass on the news that folk can stand down now Quote Link to post
