lamp problems

hi went out the other night for wat was ment to be a good nights lamping but when we arrived at the land we go on found out my deben pack wasnt charged, it had been on for around 16 hours maybe a bit longer but only had enough charge to just show the lamp was on, has any 1 else had truble like this?? if so wat did u do or wat can u recomend ? cheers karl

It does sound like a battery problem...but you mentioned Deben pack is it a single battery pack or a double...if it's a double pack it most probebly wont be the battery..if's it's a single battery and it's a old battery it could be knackered..

Check the connection's on your charger to make sure it's charging your battery properly..

its the double pack ive checked all the connections and fuses and still wont charge, i can leave it on all night and its only got enough power to just light the lamp.

Ive got a new deben double batt 18amp, went out once lamping with it for about 2 hours came home and the green light never went off after two days chargeing, used it again for another 2 hours and it charged back up in 8 hours, now whats that about.

its a bit of a piss take aint it, the green light on mine never goes off now does any 1 know where i can buy a new charger to see if that is the problem, might see if my mate still has his, luckly managed to make do with a modified car booster pack but bit heavy to be lugging about, does the job tho and give a lot of hours use, cheers karl

Does your charger have auto cut out??

You may have over cooked the battery Try a full discharge then a 2 hour charge then discharge the battery completely then a 12 hour charge

I had the same problem but the above sorted it

i had this the other day, seriously annoying but found out that it was just theat the negative connection to the battery terminal had come off under the caseing, nipped it back on and sorted. bad when it ruins a night and after a drive.

my charger has never worked propperly either, i just give it 12 hours now and hope that is ok.
