Albert Ladd 0
Badgers and deer will open the brake aways and thats what they are made for hornhunter Thanks! Badgeres are tough critters. Do the deer ever get their necks in a fox snare, or are they only getting foot snared. Quote Link to post
pegandgun 52
Badgers are always snared around the neck and open the brake aways easily.Deer can be caught iether by the foot or by the neck.We use stops that are positioned on the snare (8"-9" from the eye) so a deers foot can slip out of the noose if caught. The brake away comes into action if the deer gets neck snared We have a large population of Badgers over hear and they are heavily protected which is why we use brake aways Quote Link to post
Albert Ladd 0
We had the stops for a time, but found out that many coyote were not able to choke down. So the state went with the brakeaways for releasing the deer. Quote Link to post
