Polecats

hi ive been studying alot into ferrets and would like to take up the sport as it will be helpfull for when i go to college i do alot of country activities and would like to start this one.

 

but could someone just fill me in on what a polecat is, is it a type of ferret ???

Ferrets come in a variety of colours albino, polecat coloured , anything inbetween the two basically

Nowadays i would say its down to your own preference.I like poleys as they are good workers and they look the part.Its solely poleys i keep ,but i dont think they any better than albinos and such.Well maybe a wee bit lol

polecat, although there is such a thing as a wild polecat, your probably refering to a polecat ferret, which carries the mask/markings, as stated you'll get colours ranging from albino,sandies,silvers,polecat etc, at the end of the day, they all do the same job, flush rabbits for you

I agree with you there scott. I think poleys looks the part and as most colours work near as dammit the same its all down to personal preference. afterall IMO a ferrets a ferret

I have 3 polecats, 2 red eyed albino's, and 2 sandie's, no difference in their working abilitie's, the all bolt, just harder to see polecats in undergrowth, but with collars on it makes no difference, unlike the old days.

i have three polecats one silver tip and two albenos i think my polecats are the best ones on the game they dont mess around they got on with there job my big hob drages out a live thats a good site to see mate
