Thanks for all the replies it was a top night out on some very good land.

I have kept 2 pups from a litter that I bred out of Tilly and one is looking as though she is going to be a complete alrounder like her mother but with more pace so I am looking forward to next years comp already but I am hoping that somebody enters who lives between me and markbrick so I'm not out in the first round again

it doesnt matter at what stage a person goes out mate,if they got a dog like tilly they would walk away proud anyway,and bein level for as long as we were on them rabbits proves she is a good dog,and definatly an allrounder,mark

am i missing something here, did i read that in 3 hours of lamping the score was 9-7!!!!!, feckin 9-7 in three hours, that is not a lamping competition, it should either be re-run on some decent ground , or the lad with the bullx should get his money back, that is nothing short of a disgrace, (not having a go at anyone but it proves there are to many variables to hold such competitions) i think the "away"dog has ran better than the "home" dog , if its only lost by two on completly strange ground, its ran better, as it hasnt had the advantage of the dog or owners local knowledge,(surely the comp, is about finding the best dog, you cannot judge with a score like that, and if you do numbers should not count as they are to low, it should be how the dogs ran, and if i read correctly the bullx was catching hedge sitters at 200 yards lol, fecking incredible )as for 9-7 i would be embarrased to show that many rabbits to a lad that has traveled to run with me, if there was no game you should have went somewhere there was game(there always seems to be hundreds about where Mark runs) you cant go through with a score of 9-7, its just embarrasing, anyway good luck, but its just not right in my mind and i would have said sorry to the lad and let him go through at my expense if i had been the home runner(at the very least offered a re-run on better ground) but thats just me honest Jim lol.

When you come up here mark you'll be carrying your own!!!!! What you cant carry wont count bonny lad!!!!!! make sure you have a big bag, we are holding 20 to 30 in ours!!!!!!

imo it should have been run where numbers of 30+ for each dog were catchable, then we could have seen a proper test!!

It would have been nice to see those sort of numbers out that particular night as the fields were perfect for running dogs on the lamp. But you can only catch what you see so bigger numbers that particular night weren't possible. There were no easy rabbits seen that night as has already been mentioned so it was still an exciting and close match as far as we were concerned.

You'll have to decide when you want to have your run off through the month, if you cant decide on a date that suits both parties, then the date will be set for you on the night there is no moon on the lunar calender. If you cant or dont turn up you'll be disqualified.

Hows it a farce ? Hows it unfair ? The two guys, MB and Spep agreed to run their heat early and both are happy with the outcome; not one of the other fourteen entrants find anything wrong with this and the only moaning is coming from people who didn't enter !! Competitions like this have been talked about for years, but this is the first time it has actually taken off, and the organisor and entrants are determined to make it friendly, fun, sporting and a success !
