TIMMAY 6
Took my pup out for a walk tonight, as i have been doing the last 3 wks or so, and she tried diving at every car that went past (she hasn't done this before)! Obviously she was on a lead, but it was quite worrying, probably dived at 100 cars! Any advice folks?
Simoman 110
Flood her, take her to a busy area so she sees dozens of them and check her when she lunges, sit somewhere near the traffic and use her name to distract her and then reward her with titbits. An annoying and potentially lethal probably that needs nipping in the bud. Good luck.
TIMMAY 6
Cheers mate i'll give it a go, had a day off walking near the road today, just a run in the fields. Gonna get her out and about this weekend, possibly in a carpark where the cars are will be slower than on the road, and so it will be more controlled. I'm glad you understand how concerning i've found this!

BODBRAM 0
Helle mate, Had the very same problem with my springer when she was a pup. Get a choke chain pull it back firm when your dog lunges and say back. It is important to always use the same command "back" your dog will get confused if you change it up. It is also important to reward the dog when a car passes and it does not lunge at it.
Almateus 2
we had a rottie that chased motorbikes , he hated them and if one came up the back of the car he went bananas..! if we saw one comming we would make him turn to us and sit for a treat , making him pay all his attention on us and the treat...! once the bike had gone he was rewarded and praised.. take's time and patience and always stay calm..! mackay 3,405
Can relate to that I had a bull terrier years ago who chased after everyone on a motorbike, soon stopped when we sold his motorbike.
