ACD Cross Lurchers

Thanks to both for the very honest and interesting replies; it's certainly opened my eyes to what I might get to replace Rust at some, hopefully far off, future date. As the last post says, Ive heard they are particularly, and deceptively, agile; much more so than you'd expect from such a solid looking dog. My eldest, Rust, is slightly more heeler like in build than your usual kelpie, though this is partly due to the fact that he's inherited his sire's coat which is more husky-like than kelpie-like which makes him appear chunkier. Thanks again! :bye:

The bitch which i have at mine was got really to save her life, she was so skinny it is down to the fact these dogs are so hardy they can live off the scent of a oily rag that she was still alive. She was brought back to health, she couldn't eat properly stomach was shrunk to much when she was first got,she has since getting well, really shown what the breed could be capable of.She has shown us some creditable points on why to use the breed in producing a lurcher and when she came into season she was put to a greyhound dog,we had had a bit of advice from a few folks who had had the type before and went ahead. They are a very diseptive breed, very agile indeed but they don't look it,skull/jaw strength is awsome and cow rib bones are no hassle, good gaurds as well and if had from a pup i don't think there's anything you couldn't train them to.First litter of x's for us so new to the game but happy so far.
