Timid Toad 18
biggest prob you get is members and arguments and eventually getting people to do some work when u have an event or something but good luck if you give it a try
ghostlyease 17
Hello Victor, ACES (athletic canine enthusiast society) started back in late 2006 with a group of friends going around a local park doing some running, attending local shows and fairs together, out of that grew ACES as you see it now, we have our own land with facilities (limited but they are there, lol) and we run regular dog activity days throughout the year. The single most important thing I believe that has kept our club alive is the core runners are "real" friends, we enjoy each others company socially as well as the run days although I feel many of us see the days as social also, normally end up in the local chin wagging till late after a field day. You need a core group that is dedicated and level headed, no hidden agendas and a real love and drive for what your doing, it isnt impossible to create a successful club! ACES is now being asked to attend events, we hopefully have secured 4 major shows next year and will get to as many of the game and country fairs as we can to support and encourage people to get out and about with their dogs. http://www.aces2007.co.uk/
cumbrianrabbiter 0
like many have already said you never stop and on show/event days you will find no one will help theres you end up running round like a headless chicken and you dont get chance to have a crack with fellow hunters. atb gaz
Brimmer 220
I think a placid nature will help a lot, if you are hotheaded then leave it to somebody else! Everybody seems to know better than you, but are not willing to take any responsibility themselves! (gobshite's) On the plus side Victor you could just start something with genuine friends and take it from there, hobby's and clubs should be a fun place where leisure is involved, only a few take it too serious!
