gluebeam 0 Posted October 21, 2008 Report Share Posted October 21, 2008 just wondering if anyone shoots tufted ducks. i have access to two lakes in fermanagh (near lisneskea) both with tufties on them. any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated (which carts, decoys...) i was thinkin of thakin some mallard decoys and painting them. any ideas? Just get yourself near some deeper shelves off the edge and try some L-shaped decoy patterns. Any non-tox cart will do the trick. Try a windy choppy water day as that keeps the divers moving. I would use 3" steel 3's or bismuth 4's/5's Good luck thanks verry much man. i did think that painting the deeks would be a lot of work . thanks for the info on th carts too but we can still use lead here in northern ireland hi , tufted make great sport if your night flighting on the ponds, what i would do is stand on the waters edge at last light because thats when i think they will come... stand so your looking into the sun set so when they flight in you can see them in the light because you will not get long on them they are very fast .... carts like already has been said by tom steel 3s ,i use hen wigeon for any diving ducks again like tom has said play with your patterns , i hope this of help . good luck Quote Link to post Share on other sites
