Brimmer 220
Ouch, looks like they nailed you good and proper. Old feller laughs a lot when I get bit, i laugh even more when he gets bit! Good on you for giving them a chance! Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
I would imagine they have probably never been fed fresh meat. I would think this would be the first step in trying to calm them down a little. No one likes fighting on a full stomach. LOL Take things gradually. No rushing, respect is hard won and easily lost. Good living conditions, i'm sure, will start the ball rolling. Well done and good luck Matt Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
Cheers mattydsky, doing it now. This is the ferrets I collected from the bratz grandad. They look good after what they have been through, they still bite like demons when you pick them up, but dont hold on as long as they did, think thats a breakthrogh. Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
Best advice i was ever given donkeys yrs ago was to feed them more than they can possibly eat, dont handle for about a week just make them comfortable & stuff them with food & then start to fetch them out & handle a little bit at a time, dont give them loads of freedom ie in to the house to roam free for a while , little bit of freedom at a time, let them get used to the new smells & there new house & you wont go far wrong Quote Link to post

I still think they will be happier walking my loclal patch, softly softly is the plan, will keep you posted. Quote Link to post

If they have been somewhat conditioned to being stuck in a cage with little or no food & handling then giving them lots of freedom imo would be to much to soon, i have had ferrets that have taken months to come round so stick with it & i am sure they will be fine Quote Link to post
victor 10
did the right thing taking the ferrets off that kid, good luck with them. Quote Link to post
Sorley x 32
Kid needs a slap, RSPCA round there would have scared him. Good luck with them ferts, laughed when you wrote not holding on as long - think thats a breakthrough. They'll come round with some good care. Probably end up being your best workers. Jef66 0
Good on ya for takin the ferrets on. I couldn't agree more with everyone else people like that are a fookin menace, rscpa on thier doorstep wouldn't go amiss. The girlfriend and I have 60 ferrets at the moment, mainly from rescuing them from assholes that need lockin in a shitfilled cage and being treated like crap for a few months themselves. Few things make me genuinely angry.... this is two of em Quote Link to post
Dan_Jones 7
Well done for taken them in mate .. I notice they still not tame as the photo was took from the outside of the mesh haha.
