stealthy1 3,964
Just a bit of an update, went to spend some time with new ferrets, this morning after night-shift, thought I would take a couple of scones and cup of tea with me and let them run around the shed for a bit, anyway got a phone call from a friend about going out to do a long hedge on his permission, put scones down to to talk to him, wagging away on phone, looked down and ferrets are away with scones, cheers fezzer's, hob ripped scones apart for sultana's, jill got stuck into the jam and cream. Anyway! I'm now able to stroke their backs while they are walking around on floor, they still kick off when I pick them up, but they are becoming tamer, I'm still on track to have them working to some extent by Christmas, here are some pictures of them. Number 1 is the cage they will live in when I get it sorted, they will move into the bottom cage until the top is painted, then they will live in the top, number 2 is them running around the pipes, if you look close enough you can see whats left of my scones, number 3 is the hob staring at the cage cleaning brush, I dont think he has a fettish about brushes, I just think he can smell the other ferrets on it, just for the record, I had 3 slices of toast in the end. stealthy1 3,964
Yo! Just to show you that the new fezzer's are coming on, two pic's, one is of the hob who's as big as beaver, the other is the jill, the hobs settled down really well, the jill on the other hand is still quick to bite, a split second after I took the pick of the jill she bit me, if you look you can see her turning on my thumb, Mrs named the hob Mr Fitch because she says she heard me say to it, if you bite me again I'll make gloves out of you, the jill she named Anika because when I first put her in the cage we used newspaper on cage floor for first couple of days to make it easier to detect any worms if they had any, there was a picture of Anika Rice on one page, and the jill went straight over and s**t on the pic, so named and nearly tamed. Christmas ferreting, looking good! Quote Link to post

Yeah! plan A is to get them working by xmas, they are the first ferrets that I have rescued, they have consumed a fair amount of time, and the same in pain, the big payoff is when they bolt thier first rabbit, I'm looking forward to that more than a visit from St Nicholas. Lilyferret 0
Sounds like you're doing a grand job of getting them tamed. They're obviously starting to trust you more now. Well done Quote Link to post
