moonlighter 1,164
depends on the type of hunting. i use a lightforce for lamping out the motor but its way to bright for walking the fields looking for coney, especially if there is plenty in the field. too big a beam and the rest will run for cover. moonlighter 1,164
forgot to add, for coney i use a culite with a red filter. the dogs love it. Quote Link to post
Guest oldskool
i still prefer the old blaser for reliabilty but the lightforce 170 is bloody brilliant for lurcher work... especially for training a young dog to spot squatters or if a course is getting out of range... mine is on the bloody blink again tho!! i'm goin to get a lad to pull the guts out of it and wire it straight to the battery pack.. green oval 8
Lightforce no contest.I use one for the dog and one on my rifle. Never had one melt itself to rifle scope yet unlike cluson shootalite. Quote Link to post
colliejohn 840
I use the tried and tested Blue- Eye, cracking lamp 100% waterproof, good tight spot and reliable, i also use a Brinkmann 400,000, same again waterproof, good spot, and reliable, also the old Nightblaster 400,000, top lamp again, which i use alot, all these lamps are well made and are a reasonable price to buy, not like the faulty overpriced Lightforce lamps. regards collie john. artic 595
I have always used "Culite" since it came out. Never had a problem, beam is good enough, and still bagging good numbers of rabbits with it. There strong and light to handle. Quote Link to post
whippeter69 88
Light force Blitz variable any day Quote Link to post
redlorryyellowlorry 27
i have owned a coleman nightsight(800,000cp)for the past 18 years and its still in good nick and i never see me replacing it Quote Link to post
bill88 6
For lurcherwork the Striker is head and shoulders above anything else.We all moan about the build quality and wiring, but we still keep using them which speaks volumes about just how good the beam is. Ive had a few lamps over the years but the striker is the best beam of all the lamps ive used. Quote Link to post
redlorryyellowlorry 27
you can have mine mate when i die if my lad dont want it Quote Link to post
johnk 0
get a clulite mate there small, bright and easy to carry. plus there cheap and dont break easily tryd a few lamps and that was the best by far plus you can buy flip up filters for them. Quote Link to post
