Blackbob,

I'd say you could put it down to the time of year i.e. Jills in season.... :good: Either that, or he saw us against Italy yesterday  :icon_redface:

Had the pleasure of paying £45 to watch that display yesterday

Could have been worse you could have paid £45 and gone to Paris, then you would have been sick after :realmad: todays performance. I'm glad i watched it on the telly, at least I could turn it off!!!!! :realmad: :realmad:

I keep my jills in one cage and the hob in another then when both jill are in season put the hob with them then they have them at the same time and for the past few years i have had about 15 kits from them. i know this is a rather small number for 2 jill to have and i do think some accidents happed but with limited room its all u can do but they seem to rear them well enough and I don’t try to close to them until they are at least 2 weeks old minimises the stress to the jills

and as for a hob that has only bitten you once  every one makes mistakes

I respect that opinion and you are right, what was i thinking :icon_redface: . Im only going to breed 2 jills as i have bred one of them before and she produced some good kits,

Do u have any experience of two jills having kits in the same cage / court ?

hi,i had two jills gave birth in the same cage, they both reared healthy litters no probs.i would normally seperate then but for some reason, i can not remeber i did not seperate those two but everything went smoothly

out of interest do your hobs fight ?

Until i built the court a few weeks ago they were kept togeather in their own cage but they started to fight regular as they were kept below the jills cage and i put it down to then wanting to get at the jills. So i thought to introduce them with the court and they have all settled well. I seeked advice off people on this site as to introducing them, some said do it slowley some said put them all in and keep an eye for a bit, I put the jills in first day and then introduced the hobs an the second day and all has gone well.

They dont seem to be fighting but i did notice yesterday that one of the whith jills and a bot ok a red neck but not bloody, so ill keep a close eye.

As for breeding, i planed to leave them at it and remove the hobs later but someone has told me to remove the hobs and alow them in with the jills on different days,

I was going to leave the jills to have their young in the court, but others advised me to seperate them before they have their young,

I know everyone has their own opinion so what do u think ?

It sounds like one of your hobs has been trying to mate with the jill with the sore neck. I once had a big albino hob that tore the neck on one of my jills and had to take it to the vet to be cleaned up.

why not seperate him from the rest as he is just hormonal if the jills are still in with him & giving him the runaround he is going to be frustrated i dont know a bloke who wouldnt get frustrated when you have a couple of prick teasers living in the same house as them & what is he eating at the moment is it meat or dry food ?

i just got my self a new hob last week and the little sod had me but i put it down to it was mis treated and not handled at all he is slowley getting beter

i honestly feel if you keep on trying most biters come round, trusting hands is the first step, if this ferret has been belted its going to think hands are bad :good:

if you give him time he will trust you eventually, its nice when someone sees a different view other than the ferrets is evil or its vicious, i believe all animals are born good ,

hi i am living in the neath area how old is the hob,i would get yourself a pair of welding gauntlets first and see how he goes they take some getting through, i wouldnt breed of him if he still bites though, once the young are born you really need to handle all of your ferrets everyday,i wouldnt like to have a nasty ferret up a block end with a rabbit ,i have put my hand up the tube on many occasions and pulled out my ferrets and rabbits you wont want the hob to latch onto your hand up a blind tube around four feet down,it will be a tug of war with i would say the hob is going to win.regarding the leaving them all together i have done it before but you really need to find homes first otherwise you will have a lot of biters in six months time.i will take him on though all the best
