Well i dont a bit of pellet testing today lads and i usually use a Field target trophy round heads and thier are deadly accurate in about a 2p piece at 30 yards but i ran out of them, but today i used H n N pointed pellet the same make as Field target trophys but they are point and i was shooting the same distance no wind atol and my groupins was worse than a £5 coin so i asked my mate does he have any round headed pellets on him apart from the ones he was using and he had AA Field and my first three shots before i change the cross were hole on hole then i really tested them and put about 8 in a grouping of a 5p piece i was landed so i think we all know what ones im buying from now on although they are a bit pricey, So why is it that Pointed pellets are shait or is it just me ? No offence taken if i get told im shit haha Thanks Lads

funny enough I shoot powerpell through the gun all the time and that is all what this Ultra has had through it but yet todays shooting didn't look that great.

Pellets are cast, this means that they are never going to be ballistically perfect.... this said, domed pellets are the easiest to cast cleanly, whereas pointed pellets are more likely to be a little 'off'

When fired the airflow over the head of the pellet has a big impact on its accuracy, the domed ones are more tolerant of a little bit of ballistic imperfection in their manufacture because the airflow across the head is a lot smoother. Pointed pellets however only have to be 'off' a tiny bit before the airflow over them begins to affect their accuracy.

I was doing a bit of plinking with my Weihrauch today, it hasn't got a scope yet but the open sights are good. I was getting inch groups with RWS superdomes at 20 yards. I can get slightly better groups with RWS hobbys though. I am getting a scope for christmas.
