What's the best hunting PCP??

Recommended Posts

just curious to gets some thoughts on this.

I reckon it would be either the Daystate MK4 or the Theoben s-type?

What do yous all think?

Probably the Rapid Mk1...it has a lot of history and is rugged and reliable!!!

But the youngsters may well say the S Type!!

...sorry Mr Daystate (even though I used to have a Huntsman), you may like to consider yourself the "inventor" of the modern PCP but....!!!

I agree the Mk 1 is a fantastic bit of kit as I used to own one, I hope you don't put me in the catagory of the younsters  at 39 years old I'm older than most and younger than some here ;) .

But when my S-TYPE arrives I will be able to give a good comparison between both rifles :) So maybe I'll be able to add some feedback to the S-TYPES history. The S-TYPE has not got much history only because not a lot of people own or can afford one, there must be a good reason for Theoben to design this rifle and proudly announce it as the flagship rifle?

I think if Theoben got it right with the MK 1 and the MK 2 then the S-TYPE can only be the dogs nuts :D

Only reason the S type was rushed out was because of the Daystate.Found them cumbersome myself ..MK1 regged and modded ideal ..MK11 with a proper reg in it and the valve sorted ideal..The S type is no different to any other modern rapid bar the trimmings ie stock bottle bipod and particle filter (sic)..After all these years theoben still put an inefficient valve stem in them  The silencers are also crap

LOL!!! No problem donny I see where you are coming from, I'm sure I'll be very happy with my S-TYPE when it arrives, and after the 3 year warranty is up I could probably have Ben Taylor to tune it up ;)
