markdog 18
did anybody watch the bbc 1 programme tonight in the yorkshire area, highlighting the "problem" of illegal hunting? the police showed of there new hightec infra red helicopter camera. anybody else think what a waste of time and money. Showed one report of lamping activity which the local poaching response team tried to attend but ran over a puncturing device set by the landowner ( nice communication !!) after calling for back up (another 4*4 and the helicopter) they eventually caught the illegall lamper only to find out he was shooting rabbits with full written permisson how much did that balls up cost the working tax payer! lets get the drug dealers, child abusers, terrorists etc off this island before we worry about poaching Quote Link to post

It made me remember why I don't bother watching BBC news very often these days. God knows mow many times they mentioned the word 'poachers.' They kept banging on about how hunting with dogs is illegal, no mention of it still being legal to take rabbits. They came across a defender caked in mud, and thought they'd hit gold. Smart comments like 'That looks like it's seen some action!' I thought, well, yes it's an off road vehicle, they're not all used for ferrying kids to fecking school! Turned out to be a gamekeepers 4X4. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
I did not watch it, as we did not get it over here, but, what a waste of time and money, absulate crap, what they do.... God help us if it ever got like that over here. !! Helicopters?????...... after guys chasing bunnys......... ..... I know, you couldn't make it up could you? Quote Link to post
Paul in North Lincs 15
this was the programme i was talking about in an earlier thread.... A Couple of thinks made me laugh.........."the lampers are very odd / strange individuals" said Mr. Plod - - LOL Correct for once!! I did however find in remarkable that they threatened to give that chap an ASBO for walking his dogs on a public right of way!......Even more suprizing was when PC said " we know why you are here.....you're out after Hares and game and things" Pehaps Pc was right..but there was no proof of this allegation, which to me should have refuted the threat of an ASBO banning him from that part of the countryside!..........................I think the accused man was very diplomatic to keep schtum......Personally I would have ralphed off and ended up in a heap of sh1t LOL So much for being inocnet until proven guilty. ............I cant believe either that they took airwolf up for lampers on rabbits...then caught 5 guys shredding a pig, with four dogs and then let them leave the county without a charge sheet, despite having physical and photographic evidence. (extreme I know.....but just goes to show|) Quote Link to post

(extreme I know.....but just goes to show|) this is it paul and i dont no what they are trying to acheive in the longrun. is it for england to be one big zoo so we can all go out and walk around our great big open animal park.to me to run a dog against a rabbit a hare a fox and a deer is the most natural thing ever on this earth same as a man tickling fish in a river for food we all have the hunter gather in our genes its what makes most of us human.but on the other hand its ok to go out get a gun and go out maming animals taking pot shots at things or become a propper hunter and pop bred pheasents all winter ,poluting the air with guns popping on a saturday sunday morning because theirs some tax in that .it is a real shame.and our children need educating in the right to hunt the land rather than stuck in doors dreaming about feckall and growing up criminals or disturbed by the lack of life Quote Link to post
