Paul in North Lincs 15
I was watching the news on BBC this morning and noticed that East Yorkshiore Police had been having a field day with gang of lads poaching / coursing,...where it mentioned that hares deer and badgers were being rattled. With the story was some lovely incriminating video footage from 'Airwolf' of a dead deer and half a dozen lads on infra red mooching through some fields. Whilst am I not advocating the above - I think its serves as a fair warning.......the brain washed public will be even more alerted, and will on the blower to pc as soon as they see a lamp on - which does nothing to help those people like me who take legal quarry on permission. not that there's anthing to hide - -but we all can do without the agro and media attention Be careful Quote Link to post

ssssh1forthepot 0
Its all to do with targets, instead of being out catching proper criminals, they go for the easy option to make there figures look good! bunch of w*nkers!!! Quote Link to post
Guest hyperion
im sure some one once told me it costs a thousand pounds an hour to keep a helicopter in the air!! Quote Link to post
artic 595
I think the police do a good job, well around my way, lets face it when we need them we phone them!!! Police will always be slagged off, this was due back to the 's pre PACE. Batons were used much more freely on members of the public who stepped out of line! and the media only printing off bad news about them, still nothing has changed! They are in a very stressfull job which isn't easy, they are under paid, under staffed. Could you do their job? Bet there are a few on here who would, or even have tried to get into the police force, or who are in the police force! The police you see out in the rurals are RURAL POLICE OFFICERS. They do not go into the town unless needed. Their patch is the rurals, so when you say "GO AND CATCH PROPER CRIMINALS, LEAVE US ALONE RUNNING OUR DOGS" Well they are DOING JUST THAT, pattrolling their patch hopeing to catch someone!! or maybe not, due to the paperwork involved lol...... Stay Safe.......... Quote Link to post

Wern't doing enough? What would you like them to do? Frank, you had a bad experiance with the police? Its easier to locate someone with the heli if they make off, that way a commentry is given by the co pilot down below for the officers to detain who ever is responsable for the crime committed. Malt 379
Smashygadge, i said in my area they are doing a good job. Wern't doing enough? What would you like them to do? Frank, you had a bad experiance with the police? Its easier to locate someone with the heli if they make off, that way a commentry is given by the co pilot down below for the officers to detain who ever is responsable for the crime committed. We'd like them to respond when called out for a genuine emergency, that's what we'd like them to do. My wife was assaulted by a bloke when she was out with friends more than 18 months ago. We live in a small town, and it's not hard to find somebody. It took them months to arrest the fella, even though he was well known to the police, and it wasn't the only thing he was wanted for. We still haven't heard anything regarding a court case or anything, and by the time an officer actually came to see her to take a statement, her black eye had almost vanished. Last time I got involved because a man was being violent to a woman, I ended up in court for affray, and got a months tag for my trouble, so this time I thought we'd give the proper channels a go. You could guarantee that If I went out and gave this fella a clout, my feet wouldn't touch the deck, and I'd be in court in weeks, as it seems taking the law into your own hands is more serious than the original offence. I grew up respecting the police, even came close to joining them, but then I moved onto an estate that housed several well known drug dealers. From that moment on, I couldn't go out in my car without being stopped more than twice a week, and treated with the same contempt as the people actually dealing the drugs. I even had my house searched, because one of the dealers lived next door to me, and they couldn't be certain who's house people were coming and going from. I was shown a warrant, but when I went down to the police station to request a search record, it didn't exist. I also witnessed first hand, the dirty & often illegal tactics the police used to try to get convictions. It's the same now with lurchermen, now that hunting with dogs has become illegal. It doesn't matter if you break the ban or not, if you've got a lurcher, you're a suspect. Guilty until proven innocent. So have I got any respect for the police? No, I lost it when I grew up. Guest WILF
Fair play Maltenby...........I am sure your experience echos lots of others, I know it does mine. I think the standard of Police officers has dropped.........A LOT..........just take one look at the PSNI.......love or hate the old RUC, you wouldnt have fecked with them........but the new mob, with the shiny new uniforms stink of political correctness. Its the same over here, the standard of officers in most areas is very poor.........and poor individuals allways choose the easy target. Its a bollocks the lot of it, but you just have to get on with it!! Quote Link to post
