dai dogs 1,412
just wondering what sort of distance have people travelled for a nights lamping and what was the outcome. heres mine- about 25 years ago i travelled to prestatyn for a nights lamping (twice). i think it took us about four and a half hours to get there. on the first trip we took 2 bitches had a good night 12 hares 24 rabbits. there was so much to run we thought the next time we go we will go prepared so the second time we took six lurchers. 1 rabbit 1 hare and 1 duck. Lennard 10
All my missions are on the bicycle...the max I go is about 5 miles away...much further and the dogs are too tired to give many runs, they also have to walk back next to the bike. I am happy with say 10 hares and 30 rabbits per year from various locations... L

Lennard 10
Both Frank. I never go really far cause I need to know the terrain really well. When it is too far away it doesn't pay for me to scout it a couple of times...but I have bicycles in more places L

Lennard 10
Yeah I'm fit. I bike to work which is 4 miles...I bike back home 4 miles...I take the dogs to the supermarket 3 miles, back 3 miles...I live near the coast so there is a decent wind most of the times. On a normal supermarket mission I unleash the dogs in a safe place and run with them a bit to play, when I go after my dog my bitch helps me to get him and the dog likes that and starts challenging both of us. When I am home at 8 I don't have the urge to play badminton or something. Bike is ideal, pretty fast, easy to hide, takes you everywhere in this flat country with a lot of bicycle lanes and you can just ditch it in emergencies. L

Kye 77
The most miles has to go to RatKillah!...he flew from London, to Kansas city (roughly 5000 miles) then drove from Missouri to Wyoming, stayed a few nights, then back to Missouri (roughly 2300 miles) now THAT is dedication!...f*****g nutter! Kye..
MATTI 34
Part of our honey-moon was wild boar hunting with Bulldogs in Willis, Texas, don't know how far that is,but would go every weekend if i could if we're lamping we usually do about 100 mile round trip 3 or 4 night's a week. P.S. we finished our honey-moon in Las Vegas and i would go there every week aswell.
Guest little_lloyd
I guess im lucky to have the countryside as soon as i open my front door,,But guess im not lucky to have the most lamp shy f**k up area ,, thanks to the rilfeboys, ,, When i walk out local its down the road through the gate and cover as much land as i can,, When i feel like driving i go 30 miles tops in search of better things, Sometimes drive the land to, which is fun and you cover alot more ground and see alot more game.
