charlie 0 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Share Posted October 14, 2008 i am looking for a HPR and cant decide which one to go for i have been looking for some time, let me give you some back ground. i live in a small vilage in aberdeenshire, i have 2 small kids 3 and 4 years old so the dog would have to of a breed good with familys, i have access to all different kinds of shooting from farm land, marsh, ponds forestry and hill i do how ever mainly hunt alown. which braught me to a HPR. but which one? can any body give me some advice? socks 32,253 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Share Posted October 16, 2008 i have a GSP pup at home or rather my missus does ... its 4 months old and is very easy to train the dog sits, lays, stays, gets back, walks to heel, steady's on command and retrieves .... she is a little hyper and headstrong but as long as you get on her and dont let her get away with anything she is fine .... i will be looking forward to doing a bit with her next season .......... Garypco 2 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Share Posted November 14, 2008 If ur looking for a dog to work and live a little as a family dog the vizsla is probably the best breed for you(my opinion)theyre a very gentle layed back breed the gwp can be a little too headstrong as a family/housedog...the vizsla is a far more versatile hpr!!!
