Now what do i do?

Recommended Posts

i shoot 2 or 3 times a week and have until lately been taking all my rabbits etc to the local game dealer, now hes shut down i find myself having to go to another dealer who gives very little for them.

now i dont shoot for profit but now we are getting what works out less than 50p for clean shot rabbits.

after diesel for the nights shooting and another 50 mile round trip the next morning to drop them off this is not even break even.

at the minute all the farms i shoot on are complaining about the rabbits, but if i stop shooting them i will lose the pigeon shooting and stalking i have.

any ideas?.

do you really need to sell them? , as for diesel ect for motor , just class it as a good night/days sport - im sure people could take them off you if you needed to dispose of , and put them to good use , from dog food to ferret food

we regular drive futher than 50 mile for a good night/day

there is a lot around here that we bring them back for,ie dog food and the old folk etc,but they dont want them every day.

i suppose we can just keep doing what we are for now until a better thing turns up.

Keep the feelers out, your bound to find someone in your county who will pay a fair price.

average price that a game dealer sell a rabbit to a restraunt or hotel is bout £3.50, just undercut em mate, the one that offered me 75p would av been making £2.25 for doing jack so just speak to the chefs direct, word soon gets out and then youll have a boomin business

Is it Rushyford Game?

no.......alan at rushyford game is a great bloke but has taken a job in leeds and closed the game dealers down, shame cos it was very handy for us and we had a key to the chillers.

now go elsewhere but not a good price at 50p each.

have put the word out today so will see what happens.
