labsnlurchers 39
always thought first cross beddy whippets were always bluey/grey with broken coats, anythink after a first cross colours etc went different ways? would like to know opinions on this one, by the way pups are a credit very tempting, your bitch looks the twin of my beddy whippet yep, that should be the case aslong as dam and sire a pure and there are no mutations of genes for coat length that can happen spontaniously. codmaster127 64
forget the comment about your bitch, i am thinking of someone else , getting worse the older i get, i do own a pure beddlington though, and a first cross, they do make good rabbit dogs and are always wanted , you will have no problems shifting them, i have found there seems to be more down south than north? bill88 6
Its a myth that genuine first crosse's are always blue/grey broken/rough coated. My bitch is a first cross, Rillingtonx pied whippet.some of the litter were blue some fawn.Ive seen numerous first crosse's that were fawn, sandy, blue, with varying degrees of white on them. Some of the working lines of bedlington seem to throw more variety of colours when crossed with whippets, maybe this is to do with the outcrossing to lakelands/borders but im no expert. This should be in the running dog section as Eamonn mentioned Quote Link to post
