tiptopdan 1
about two years back i went on the local field with my mate and his colly grey and he spotted a hedgehog. dident think any thing of it as it is full of spikes. we dident think the dog would touch it. seen loads of dogs go over to them and just have a sniff at them NOT THIS DOG he grabs them and crunches them. his mouth was swelled up, his face was swelled up, his full head was swelled up. after that day he loves them he pulls me mate across fields after them. any one know how to stop this? we dont want him killing hedgehogs it was just one of them things we couldnt stop from happening. Had the same prob with a border bitch nothing you can do really except be careful. Developed a system of hanging her upside down by her tail choking her off and flicking all at the same time to get her to release the hedgehog an interesting sight!! Whilst on the subject is it me or have hedgehogs virtually disappeared? Quote Link to post

Intresting observation around our way Hedgehogs are virtually non exsistent whilst one of their main predators is thriving I usually see 2-3 every few nights down my street. We also have few foxes. So i dont know how the hedgehogs are in such great numbers. we saw 8 in one night once. Quote Link to post
