Some good foxes there buddy, that rifle looks very interesting, got the specs, and a better pic?

the rifle is a remi 700 vssf the scope is a deben night tec 6*24* 56 with 30 mil tube & illuminated mill dot retical ,although this rifle is a heavy rifle the accuracy i v-good ,the moderator is a t-8 i now use 55gr v-max heads, lapua brass ,25.5 gr benchmark powder cci bench rest primer's it took about a month using a chrono ,working from 24gr powder in .5 incraments eventualy finishing with what i have now .This load produces an average velocity of 3259 fps ,with an average deviation of 15.5 fps and 1297 ft-lb where as my original powder (h4895) 3110 fps average,22.8 average deviation and 1181 ft-lb this rifle /load has taken fox's at fair long range's

Thats real good going for the North East...............where abouts were you lamping mate???? :good:

on the road to otterburn we get regular bag's of 3 plus over there ,some night's we see very few fox's one night we must have seen near on 20 but quite a few are lamp shy so quite long range shot's are called for , our best night to date is eight in the north west of scotland

Thats real nice buddy :good: hydrographics for the dipped stock? My pet 223 load is a 55 grain v-max, with 24 grains of vhit 133, std small rifle primer, dont know the speed, but it will shoot 5 into half an inch all day.I shoot this out of a 700bdl, thats been restocked and pillar and glass bedded. Not all will shoot 133 as it can be too hot [my mate has the same gun, and its too hot for his]failing that, 135 is the way to go, but i must admit, i think h4895 is one of the best, i use it for my .204.

It blows the 223 into the weeds mate, its a lot faster and flatter, the ultimate lamp gun, if you can positively id the fox, it will kill it, its got 22-250 performance with less noise, drop, or wind drift. if i could only have one gun, it would be the .204.

No mate, i have a mate in the states that has 3000 rounds down one, and its still as accurate, and he,s put allsorts through it. Its only like a stiff 223 charge, the parent case is the old 222 magnum, and to be honest, its unlikely anyone shooting fox or even crows in this country would wear one out quickly?

Factory ammo is no problem for the 20, heads are plentiful too, hornady 32 and 40 grain, berger 30, 35 and 40, also the sierra blitzking in 32 and 39 grain, and i believe that nosler have just brought out a bullet .Brass is still the sticking point, though i think we have a couple of hundred cases left. Hornady, remington, and winchester all make brass now, so it shouldnt be a problem. All the major manufacturers make a 204 now, i have a ruger VT, remmy make the vssf, cz do one, browning do the a bolt, sako do one, savage, the list goes on.With a 32 grain head, dependant on powder etc, you can expect 4000 fps, up to 4200, 39/40 grainers go at around 3700-3800.great cartridge, you wouldnt regret it.You would have to decide on a gun, and ring the shop for a price, i only work there its not my buisness.
