classic ones got to be shooting moon lit phesants with 410 or airrifle?

 

lamping phesent in trees is efective pop them with rifle and dog to pickup or jump them quick lol :whistling: and i used to do it because half the reason i cannot get most my permision is because of these shooting hoots and it winds me up. :thumbs:

I have heard that some people leave lines attached to the banks of rivers, with a strong monofilament, barbed hook, and a large split shot 12" from the hook and a bundle of worms.

I presume that having baited such a contraption, they then visit later on in the day, perhaps in darkness and retrieve their quarry.

It would seem that in order to be prolificc, multiple lines would need to be set.

Never seen it my self

What the poachers of old had by way of fieldcraft,stealth,and guile we compensate with modern technology,methods,and equipment,different strokes for different blokes :)

when growing up in a old gypsy caravan the local squire had upset us locals trying buy the land from locals . my father the local mechanic. was a poacher of the old school It was coming to a shoot day me and my dad used raisons and dates tied to cotton to lure all the phessies into a bag...needles too say the squire was very embarrsed by his lack of phessies in front of his guests..Squire Coltraine was furious and my dad Jeremy and me were very happy... :thumbs:

rifalings a lot faster and easyer,my ol man and uncle were both keepers when i grew up,i fell out with me uncle and shot more of his birds than anyone,new where every wire and pad on the place was,sold them aswell,my uncle is nowkeeper on some scotish salmon deer stalking grous shooting estate if you ever fancy a holyday mack,tie him in the chair old fasion styley and borrow a couple of rifals have a few day deer and salmon shooting, ;) he is a proper wanker :wankerzo4:

you dont need a lamp to shoot phessis at night :thumbdown: probably scare more than ye shoot matey
